Peace Mala’s
This world is for us to live together in peace. My mala’s are made with this intention held like a hug around each bead. The mala’s I make are a combination of many religions and cultures which makes them a reflection of our world being one. They are made with the sacred number of 108 beads and knotted by silk thread. Many are knotted while I sit upon my paddle board nestled into a quiet little mangrove tunnel.
A lei of peace adorned with the most sacred of plants in the world, the lotus. Let this guru bead be our teacher. Like the lotus we hold all our prayers and intentions with a fascinating will to live. A lotus seed can withstand thousands of years without water, can find sanctuary in the muck of the most murky river and still blooms beautiful brilliant colors of all shades and sizes.
Binding this malas main cord with a tassel base to represent the roots of the lotus plant reminds us of the analogy “no mud, no lotus.” It’s emblematic of the unwavering potential we hold within ourselves. Living life with unwavering faith, as the lotus does, ensures the most beautiful revivals.
